One of our favorite places to visit is Carmel. Which is one of the biggest reasons we chose to have our wedding there!
Today, we want to share with you some of our favorite places to visit in Carmel, as well as our favorite place to stay!
We try to make it down to Carmel at least 5 times a year, but we live in the SF Bay Area, so it takes us about an hour and a half to get there. Which is not always the easiest!
So for starters, places to eat in Carmel…
One of our favorites is Hogs Breath Inn. Not only because we love Clint Eastwood (who formally owned it) but because the food is amazing! Make sure you introduce yourself, you never know who may be there to say hi! 😉
Now, you can’t go to Carmel, and not go on the 17 mile drive. This is one of our favorite places to go, ever. The scenery, the nature, the views, it is just so beautiful!
Our favorite stops include (In no specific order):
1. The Inn and Links at Spanish Bay – Go through the hotel to the back, when you step outside, you will see the ocean, along with some fire pits, and if you’re lucky, the bag pipers will be playing!
2. The Ghost Tree – The trunk is bleached white from the wind and sea spray, how cool!
3. The Lodge at Pebble Beach – Here you can stop for some lunch and shopping! Sometimes you can also catch a game of gold going on in the center grass area!
4. Point Joe – Although we said these weren’t in any specific order, this one is our favorite. You can get gorgeous pictures of the ocean at this stop.
Next, we want to talk about our favorite place to stay!
Before you walk into the spa area, they have a huge pool, perfect for those hot summer days. And of course, there is also everyone’s favorite, the hot tub.
Everything is so pretty at night, there are lights strung across the yard and a fire pit outside.
Some other activities that Bernardus provides are, Bocce Ball, Tennis, and you can even rent a luxury car for a few hours to drive around town! Speaking of, have you ever been to Ocean Ave in Carmel? If you haven’t, you must go, there is shopping galore!
The spa is amazing! They have an outdoor heated pool that looks out to the beautiful Carmel Valley hills! Flowers surround the pool area and tree’s hang high above!
It is always very clean, and well managed.
When you step inside, there is a huge sauna that just feels absolutely amazing. Oh, and did I mention there is a fire pit inside as well? Yeah, pretty awesome!
Thank you for living a day in the Life Of Sawdey!
